WCH Inskeep Rd. — Driveway Repair & Resurfacing Project

Washington Court House, Ohio — Fayette County

BEFORE — Deep Standing-Water Holes & Severe Rutting

This driveway on Inskeep Rd. in Washington Court House had two extremely large holes that were holding water after every rainfall. The stone had migrated outward from each impact zone, leaving deep depressions, soft spots, rutting, and uneven terrain throughout the center of the driveway.

Visible issues in the BEFORE photos:

  • Large standing-water holes
  • Stone pushed outward from the damaged areas
  • Deep rutting and soft spots
  • Clay-heavy soil holding water
  • Low areas with no drainage path
  • Uneven driveway surface from repeated vehicle traffic

These conditions are very common in Washington Court House due to flat terrain and clay pockets that trap water.

WORK COMPLETED — Full Regrade, Base Correction & Limestone Resurfacing

To restore the driveway, I mobilized the compact track loader (CTL) with the grading attachment and completed a full rebuild of the driveway base.

Step-by-step work performed:

  • Cut out the excess stone that had gathered around the holes
  • Pulled displaced material back into the low areas
  • Regraded the entire driveway, reshaping the base
  • Restored proper slope to eliminate standing water
  • Filled and leveled the damaged sections
  • Resurfaced the entire driveway with #57 limestone
  • Graded the new stone edge-to-edge
  • Compacted the driveway with the CTL for long-term stability

This process eliminated the deep holes, corrected the drainage, and created a smooth, durable driving surface.

AFTER — Smooth, Stable, Properly Drained Driveway

The finished driveway is:

  • Smooth
  • Even
  • Properly sloped
  • Free of holes
  • Free of rutting
  • Fully compacted
  • Ready for year-round use

The #57 limestone surface is locked in place and will shed water correctly, preventing the washouts that were happening before.

MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT USED

  • #57 Limestone full driveway resurfacing
