MIDLAND, RT. 68 OH — CRUSHED ASPHALT LOT REGRADE & COMPACTION

This Midland property had old crushed asphalt dumped around the lot many years ago. Over time, the material settled unevenly, developed soft pockets, and became unusable for truck parking. The customer needed the entire lot reshaped, leveled, and compacted so it could support heavy truck traffic without rutting or sinking.

MW Martin Services brought in the John Deere 323E CTL to regrade the entire area, reshape the asphalt, and compact the surface into a solid, usable parking lot.

Before Photos

These show:

  • Uneven crushed asphalt
  • Grass and vegetation growing through the surface
  • Soft spots and low areas
  • Poor drainage and inconsistent grade
  • Areas where trucks could not safely park

Issues Identified

  • Crushed asphalt dumped without proper grading
  • Soft pockets throughout the lot
  • Vegetation growing through the surface
  • No compaction
  • Uneven grade causing pooling and instability
  • Trucks unable to park without sinking or rutting

This is extremely common with old crushed asphalt lots — the material is good, but it must be graded and compacted correctly to perform.

Work Completed

Full Lot Regrade with CTL (John Deere 323E)

The entire surface was reshaped, leveled, and corrected for drainage.

Material Reconditioning

Existing crushed asphalt was reused — saving the customer money — but reworked to eliminate soft spots and uneven areas.

Compaction for Heavy Truck Use

The lot was compacted to create a solid, stable base capable of supporting:

  • dump trucks
  • work trucks
  • trailers
  • equipment

Edge Cleanup & Vegetation Removal

Grass and weeds were cut back and removed to restore clean edges and prevent future migration.

Final Surface Finish

The lot was left smooth, tight, and ready for immediate use.

Final Result

The customer now has:

  • A solid, level, compacted crushed asphalt lot
  • A surface strong enough for heavy trucks
  • No soft pockets
  • No rutting
  • No uneven grade
  • A clean, professional parking area

This project turned an unusable lot into a functional, durable work surface using the material already on-site.
